About Rick
The family business
For Rick Aaron, the only decision about going into the family business meant which instrument to choose. Rather than compete with his father and uncle on saxophones and clarinet, or his grandfather on trumpet, Rick chose the flute and perfected his craft under the tutelage of Eldridge Meyer, Sam Baron, John Burgess, and Israel Borouchoff.
Since the mid-60’s, he’s been a fixture on the Milwaukee area music scene, covering gigs that range from weddings, to corporate events, club dates, jazz concerts, Broadway shows, subbing with the Milwaukee Symphony, fundraisers, and a musical exploration with a quartet of flutes.
He recently has added to his musical palette a music meditation class.
Whatever idiom he’s playing, though, Rick reminds us what a delight music can be when channeled through a player whose true instrument is his soul.
